I chose to repair my Toyota key fob using 3D printing, relying solely on photos and Freecad software - no 3D scanner was needed. Scaling images in Freecad proved a bit tricky, so I utilized the scale image macro to accurately measure dimensions, then took precise measurements with a caliper. Smartphone photos were used throughout the process. The printed parts fit seamlessly together. In my design, I carefully added button holes with a 0.3 mm offset. Icon images from the original rubber buttons were salvaged and reused. P.S. My Freecad file for the Toyota Verso key fob is still incomplete. Although the replacement part's shape was determined through trial and error, it's almost perfect after 10 printings with adjustments.
