This is a customizable center console coin holder/organizer tray designed specifically for the Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ, and Scion FR-S models. Frustrated with the useless stock cup holders inside the covered armrest, I created this innovative solution using a commercial coin holder that fits snugly in grooves for effortless removal. The Custom Accessories 91116 Coin Holder is an affordable option available on Amazon, priced at just over $5. I printed the design with PETG on my UM 2+ 3D printer, utilizing a .06 nozzle and a print speed of 50 mm/s for optimal results. To give the parts a durable finish, I applied one coat of filler primer followed by 4-5 coats of Plasti Dip. However, the resulting surface proved to be quite sticky, so I remedied this issue by sprinkling talcum powder over the entire tray and then rinsing it off. This simple process significantly reduced the tackiness and achieved a more desirable 'rubbery' texture. Through experimentation with various tray designs, I determined that incorporating a frame would maximize storage space while minimizing plastic usage and simplifying the printing process. The parts are carefully cut to facilitate easy FDM printing. When working with PETG or ABS materials, it's essential to glue the parts together using IPS Weld-On 3 Acrylic Plastic Cement, available on Amazon or at most hobby shops. This water-thin cement melts and fuses the plastic components seamlessly. To avoid any confusion, please note that you should not attach the tray to the frame. Instead, focus on gluing the frame together first, followed by attaching the tray rim to the tray itself. The frame features small detents that aid in aligning the posts, as evident from the rendered images.
