5-14-16 Update...Added a taller bottom tray and a matching top cover. This ups the opening width to about .350in or almost 9mm...The top is a blank hex with no conditions for springs. The files are "tray runner tall", "hex blank wide1", and "drop plate tall". Wanted to redesign a hinge for the lid on my center console of my 97 Runner. Not really possible without really altering the lid. Was checking it out and noticed some screws on the underside of the lid that would make some good mounting points for something so I whipped this up. Just a little thing to utilize some under lid storage space for documents, etc. May fit other models or years. Two versions with multiple tops. The first model...it uses the center set of screws under the lid to hold the base and the top, it does not have a bottom (in pic). You'll need to get some longer screws and knock down the ends, #3 diameter are about the same size as the factory. The wide version has a bottom that screws to the lid, then the top screws to that (in render pic). This widens the opening a bit. You'll need a few screws for this too setup too. All the tops lock into the drop down plate which mounts under the hinge with the factory screws. The wide version opening is .1875in due to the base and the original is .25in. I included some springs to hold items down...the file names denote which top is setup for this. Going to be adding some more parts soon like a taller base for a larger opening for a cellphone or whatever and some piggy-back slots to mount to the top...
