All my models are printed on a Prusa i3 kit. Click this link below to find the one I use and get 15% off by using code "GBTE". Tronxy Prusa I3 is a popular choice among makers. It features a reverse engineered Toyota 22RE 4-cylinder engine, making it perfect for learning about engines and moving parts. All printed parts are available except for a few bearings and fasteners. Some print times calculated in Cura at .2mm layer height include: Engine Block - 40 hours Head - 23 hours Valve Cover - 10 hours Oil Pan - 14 hours Watch this video to see the model in action: http://youtu.be/mmK_LWOqRp8 Instructions Update 05/29/2017: Check out the remixes of this project. There, you'll find additional parts and improvements made by me and others, such as a stronger drive motor that drives the flywheel directly instead of using a belt. Update 02/01/2015: I've updated the oil pan, timing cover, and rear main cover to use 4mm x 2mm disc magnets. This will keep the oil pan in place better. Simply glue the magnets in and expose about 1mm above the surface to allow a gap between the block and oil pan. Note: Connecting rod caps and spacer .125 were not scaled properly. They're too big or small. I've updated them on 01/27/2015. Update 01/27/2015: I've added a ported version of the head with 3mm holes for spark plugs or LEDs. Print it with support touching the build plate. I've also uploaded the whole upper intake, which can be printed with all support material. The manifold attaches with 4mmx2mm magnets just like the header. Update 01/25/2015: I've made a header for the engine and uploaded it. It prints well in Cura with support selected to touch the build plate. Make sure to hold it in place with 8 4mm x 2mm disk earth magnets epoxied in. This model was reverse engineered from a Toyota 22RE engine using SolidWorks. All modeling was done at 35% scale for printing since that's the biggest my printer can print. The parts were printed in PLA on my RepRap original Prusa, which is an impressive feat. The model consists of 80 printed parts, excluding fasteners and bearings. It's a complex build requiring precision calibration to avoid costly mistakes.
