Toy Train Magnet Collar

Toy Train Magnet Collar

thingiverse

Create a plastic collar to fit around the front and rear magnets on Brio-style toy trains, such as Thomas. The design mimics the original style used by these brands, ensuring proper magnet placement between the magnet and the toy train. If you prefer an over-magnet version similar to BigJigs, use magnet_collar(false). However, adding a layer of plastic between the magnet and nail head decreases its holding power. Measurements are based on Cherry Tree Toys parts: magnet (http://www.cherrytreetoys.com/Ceramic-Magnet-P3616.aspx) and nail (http://www.cherrytreetoys.com/Nickel-Plated-Round-Head-Nail-P6052.aspx). Note that nails may not be barbed like in the photo due to a change in suppliers. Find updated designs on GitHub at https://github.com/ex-nerd/3d. After printing, enjoy using it and stay tuned for a writeup on assembling a complete wooden train.
