Toy train for wooden railway (BRIO)
thingiverse
This is an old-style steam train designed for Brio wooden railway systems and most other compatible sets. It comes printed in two distinct colors with parts assembled using solvent-type glue like Uhu Plast Special. For accurate positioning, some parts are keyed to fit together correctly when glued. Besides the printed components, you will need a 10 cm long steel rod that is 2 mm in diameter and a cylindrical magnet measuring 4 mm in diameter by 2mm thick (both can be found on Amazon or eBay). Two assembly tools are included: one ensures axles go into wheels straight and another helps cut three 28 mm axle lengths precisely using a cutting gauge. When tapping the axles into the wheels, apply a drop of glue first. Be cautious not to let any glue enter the axle bores when gluing the chassis base. Print in PLA with 0.2 mm layer height.
