Toy Train Carriage
thingiverse
This train carriage is compatible with most wooden railways such as Brio. It matches the locomotive design found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3790522. The carriage consists of 11 printed parts, two 4mm diameter x 2 mm thick magnets and three axles cut from 2mm diameter steel rods, including two 28 mm long for wheels and one 18 mm long for door. Some parts are designed with keys for accurate alignment and there are two different colors as shown in pictures. Print the carriage in PLA at a layer height of 0.2mm. The cabin should be printed upside down with the door gap facing up, then drill through both door holes with a 2 mm drill after printing to ensure proper opening. Support is not necessary. Start by assembling the roof and its guide piece using glue. Next, assemble the wheels (check the train thing file for a mounting jig). Mount the wheels on the chassis and glue the retaining plate in place. Assemble the cabin and door using the small axle. Glue the cabin to the chassis making sure no glue gets under the door. Attach the chairs to the base of the cabin using glue. Glue the roof onto the top of the cabin. Finally, glue the two magnets into both ends being careful to ensure they have opposite polarities.
