toy track
thingiverse
Hi all, This remixed part from the speed tank aims to create a track drive for a toy fire engine. The goal is to achieve slow engine speeds more suitable for indoor toys enjoyed by kids. Additionally, it will feature a chassis resembling a real fire engine and be equipped with a water tank and pump. Some updates on this project: I'm currently trying to fit a standard RC servo as the driving motor. This has several advantages over using a standalone brushless motor - we don't need a separate motor controller since the servo already comes with one, and the drive speed will be rather slow, making it more suitable for toys. A new main drive wheel with a smaller gear, featuring 40 teeth, has been uploaded. On my remixed part, there's no way to tension the chain, but I've seen various methods in other speed tank variations that achieve this. To keep things simple, I designed a new chain link that's just 2mm longer than the original one. This allows me to fine-tune the chain tension by inserting two or three of these longer links into the track. To distinguish between the different chain links, I've stamped the longer ones with an "L." Please note that the uploaded chain link is the longer version.
