Toy Quadcopter / Drone - Dual Prop
prusaprinters

Thanks to pefozzy for the base model!

The props have been changed to dual prop - same internal hole diameter as the original so the pins can bit fit and glued in the same manner.

The image shows glow in the dark props (kids found it fun).

The attached base is plain - not lettering or shape.

To add a letter use something like Meshmixer (maybe there is a better way to do it, but this is what I found):

Import the base model

add the letter shape and change it sizes

re-mesh the top of surface of the base where the shape goes (select and re-mesh) and the letter/shaper over and over for lots of triangles (as much as your computer will handle)

make the base see through with a shader (or letter/shape) and lower it to make an indent.

in the object browser (under View) make sure to FIRST select the base and then your letter/shape and the do a boolean difference (set it to as accurate as your computer will handle).

Test for any holes with the inspection tool and fix stuff. Export to STL and print.

Print Settings I used:

Printer brand: Creality

Printer: Ender 3 Pro

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.12

Infill: 40

Filament brand: eSUN

Filament color: Light brows and glow in dark

Filament material: PLA+

How I Designed This:

Lots of playing around in Meshmixer: (this is probably easier in cad if you know cad)

The props i basically import the triple prop and made 2 copies. Spun around one 60 degrees so the props arms faced each other.
Now you need to get a center pivot in that center ring. Just select the internal walls (all of them) and extract a copy and raise it up from the model. Add a pivot to be used later.
Now cut away the side props leaving only 2 arms facing away from each other. This leaves gaping holes on the sides of the ring.
Select a a remaining out wall that is more or less a square and select the previously made pivot. Pivot around the pivot making copies (press D) all around the ring to cover it.
Finally make the shape solid with a the smaller offset it will give you (0.01) and use the inspector to solve any issues.
