Toy Microphone
thingiverse
My son requested a microphone for his pop star costume, and I decided to design one for him. I sliced the top grille in Slic3r and printed without any support material. As I wanted to do a color change for the shaft and bottom grille, I sliced that part in PrusaControl. To ensure proper support for the lip in the grille connection, I printed with support. However, the software insisted on adding support to the bottom of the shaft as well. I designed it so that additional support should not be needed, and other slicers may be able to slice it without a central support column. To enhance its appearance, I also printed a white diffuser and added a color-changing LED light at the bottom. To complete the look, I included a 46mm sphere in the package. Simply take it into your favorite slicer, slice off the bottom 9mm of the sphere, if you have a similar LED light as mine, and superglue it to the diffuser. In addition to the light, I knew he would like to add some "gems," so I added eight 4mm diameter indents in the grille to accommodate them.
