Toy Hammer

Toy Hammer

thingiverse

This is a toy hammer. It was designed to work in conjunction with a learning set that helps children master tool usage. The model itself presents a challenge due to its shallow overhangs, but it performs better than initially expected. I created this model from an experimental material resembling Rubbermade or Tupperware plastic. Using brittle plastics like PLA is not recommended; instead, opt for flexible materials such as M3D Tough or Ninja Flex. Print the head with the top of the hammer facing downwards. Print the handle in a horizontal position. I provided multiple versions of the handle and head during the design process. The parts are engineered to snap together seamlessly. However, when using flexible materials, it's advisable to "weld" the components after assembly for added stability.
