Toy Grenade Spinning Top

This is a replica toy spinning top designed to resemble a hand grenade. Alongside the printed instructions, you will need a 0.5 inch diameter wooden dowel, 3 feet of string, and a key ring to complete the top. Cut the dowel to 4 7/16 inches long and drill a 1/8 inch hole in the center of the dowel, 7/16 inches down from the top edge. Insert the dowel into the bottom piece of the top with the hole facing towards the opposite end as the top's base. Now tie the key ring to one end of your string. Place the bottom of the top into its corresponding section. Push the other end of the string through the hole in the dowel and start wrapping the string around it. Pull on the key ring while holding the top portion of the top, then watch as it begins to spin.
