Toy Fire Engine Spare Parts (Mirror, Wheelhouse, Battery lid)
thingiverse
Me and my wife fixed up a broken Top-Toy No. 88 fire engine, which needed some replacement parts: - Rear-view mirrors - Wheelhouse - AA Battery lid I hope these parts will be useful for other toys too. If you're giving this kind of toy to a kid under ten, don't bother with the mirrors - they're the first thing to break! Here are the files I've included: - Individual STL files. Flip the images to get opposite sides - Blender project file I don't have my print settings anymore, but I suggest printing the mirrors and battery lid at high quality (0.10mm), since they have a lot of details. The wheelhouse needs to be strong (say 0.25mm, 30% infill) because it takes a beating. The mirrors are made to snap on without glue. For the wheelhouse, I recommend sanding both pieces and using a solvent or something similar to stick them together. I printed these parts using HiPS. FYI: The items in the pictures might look different from the STL models. Check the Blender file for some version history.
