Toy Dump Truck (split)
thingiverse
I chopped up barSpin's Toy Dump Truck into smaller parts, as I couldn't print it at 50% scale with my tiny printer. The 3 main sections were sliced in half, and since the wheels and axles still fit together well, they didn't need any modification. I left them out of these files altogether. Using Fusion 360's split technique allowed me to create the divided sections, a process that I highly recommend for similar situations: https://screencast.autodesk.com/main/details/058c63ba-23c4-4b96-a218-d86a52afbadd Fillets have also been added to sharp corners that turned out quite pointed during printing. This will help make the toy more secure for young toddlers. In another modification, I stretched out the pivot pins on the flatbed while expanding the pivot holes in the base into through-holes. This tweak should ensure a tighter attachment between the flatbed and base. When inserting the longer pivot pins into the new holes, heating up one ear of the hinge with a lighter flame for a few seconds helped bend it slightly without breaking it. After that, I rapidly pressed the bent part back in place, then held it firmly until it cooled completely. Lastly, even though this split version was designed to be close to original size, it still needed to be reduced further by 7% (to 0.93x scale) to fit within my M3D printer's build area.
