Toy Blocks
thingiverse
This toy cube has four cool variations: rectangular prism, cylinder, hexagonal prism and a solid cube shape, all ready to be printed out! You can also easily edit this thing using Tinkercad at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/d3NwUmfX934. You will find some basic printing instructions below: These were printed on my RepRapPro Ormerod 2 with a high-quality PLA, and they look fantastic. I used ten percent infill to get the perfect density. The settings that worked best for me are: 200 degrees Celsius for the extruder temperature, and 56 degrees Celsius for the heated bed. At the bottom, three solid layers ensured great support. On top, five solid layers added an extra touch of quality. If you have the same printer as me, I highly recommend printing them one by one, so they are always being printed in different orders every time, even when they vary a bit in size - this made for nice even blocks that stayed steady throughout their print runs. It's possible though that the printer would only require small changes to seam location when printing many identical objects at once. In my experience, these were printed just fine with five percent infill but, interestingly enough, the block tops weren't looking as well-crafted, for whatever reason. After one got sanded and I saw what a job that was, I figured why bother with a young child when a tiny edge wasn't really needed to prevent damage. My 1 year old nephew turned out just fine playing without these small safety edges!
