I'm having a blast playing with the Townscaper game by @OskSta, and I've discovered that some clever folks have figured out how to create 3D models using photogrammetry. Thanks to @FraserLeeee and others for sharing this idea! To get started, you'll need to rotate the Townscaper model as if you're flying around it in a 360-degree view from multiple levels. Next, record your screen while rotating, then take the video and extract frames using ffmpeg. After filtering out any bad sections by hand, import those frames into Metashape. Follow the default workflow, and voilà! Several hours later, you'll have a 3D model. It's not always easy, but it's also kinda entertaining. I'm looking forward to trying more of this in the future!
