Tower Of Pi - Improved Font
thingiverse
I created this Tower of Pi based on the original design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:271769. Regular fonts don't print well when standing upright, so I developed a font that only features numbers without any horizontal elements. This unique design allows it to be printed upright from bottom to top without needing supports and prevents filament residue from getting stuck between the numbers. The font was crafted using a free tool available here: http://fontstruct.com/fontstructions/show/1122708. Users can access it for free. The fins located above and beneath the numbers ensure a secure connection to the guiding helix. A technical note: the STL file is not manifold, as indicated by repetier-host, yet it still prints smoothly. Here's an interesting fact: if you read the first three digits from the inside or backside of the Tower of Pi, you can form the word "PIE."
