Tower of Babylon (Hollowed Out Remix)
thingiverse
This design is a remix of a model by Ali Alghadhbawi, which he made available under Creative Commons licensing. To prepare the model for printing, I used Meshmaker to create a cone that matches the size of the model and then subtracted its volume from the original design. The model requires infill to print its more intricate structures successfully, so I recommend using 30% infill to fill in the rest of the model's volume. In addition to the original design, I've included an image of my version, which is represented by a gray model. As you can see from the image taken during the printing process, the black model shows what changes have been made through the redesign. My personal goal for this project is to remove the windows and insert a light source that shines through them, but I'm still figuring out how to achieve this in a 3D modeling program. For now, I'll rely on my Dremel to make the necessary adjustments, and if successful, I might later post an image of the one-of-a-kind lamp.
