Tower Bridge - London

myminifactory

Welcome to London! MiniWorld collaborator Brian Sanchez shares an incredible model of London's most famous bridge, optimized for printing without supports, easily assembled without glue, and featuring an operational drawbridge that swings open and closes! The Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London built between 1886 and 1894. Sir John Wolfe Barry was appointed engineer with Sir Horace Jones as architect, and the result is a majestic structure built in Gothic style. The bridge crosses the River Thames near the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of the city. The bridge measures 800 feet (240 meters) long, with two towers standing at an impressive height of 213 feet (65 meters), built on sturdy piers. The central span of 200 feet (61 meters) between the towers is divided into two equal bascules or leaves, which can be raised to a remarkable angle of 86 degrees to allow river traffic to pass. MiniWorld is thrilled to bring this historic model to life! Each model is crafted by hand and brain from scratch in SolidWorks or Fusion360 to ensure printability. Please give credit where it's due - we're all about sharing culture and education! MiniWorld is a collection of 3D printable models of world landmarks, celebrating the beauty and wonder of our planet!
