A grand estate once stood on Fox Hollies Road in Hall Green, bearing the name The Hollies. History dates back to 1275, when a farm was recorded as Atte Hollies on this very site. Initially listed under Acocks Green, it later transformed into Hall Green. By 1626, the Fox family acquired the farm, renaming it Foxholleys. The property eventually passed to Zaccheus Walker, who rebuilt the house in an impressive style, christening it The Hollies once again. Demolition came in 1937, bringing the grandeur of this era to a close. The three blocks of flats, constructed in 1963, took their names from the Foxholleys estate's fields: Coppice, Hollypiece, and Homemeadow. Thus, you see Coppice House on the left, Hollypiece House in the center, and Homemeadow House on the right. These flats now occupy the site where Zaccheus Walker's mansion once stood, accessed via an avenue of trees still standing on Greenwood Avenue. The sole remaining remnants of the entrance to the long-demolished hall are a gate pillar and the base of another structure. The towers stretch 12 stories high, measuring 36 meters tall, constructed from 258 intricate polygons.
