Tower
thingiverse
This is a tower and base I designed for use with the Gaslands tabletop game, standing at 20ft/6m high on a 1/64 scale. My goal was to create a pair of gates that would look pretty good while being modular and easy to assemble. The two main parts are the Tower Supports and the Tower Base, with the Tower Tops designed for mounting things to the top, coming in two forms: supported and unsupported. The supported one has a lip that prevents it from slipping down the middle of the tower, while the unsupported one will slide right down. There are also three different PA loudspeakers that make great additions to the towers, giving them an extra something special. I plan to model some more modern PA speaker arrays later. The three tower supports sides fit into slots in the base for quick assembly. I glued the sides into the base and the edges to each other. I chose to laser cut my sides because it's more efficient than printing them, which also works fine. If you're not printing, material that is about 1mm thick is ideal for the sides (the slots in the base are 1.4mm in the model). The file TowerSupports.stl can be used for laser cutting. The dimensions of the object (three tower sides) is 94x49mm. The loudspeakers in my example photo are mounted using pieces of paperclips that happened to be on my bench. Again, the idea was a quick build rather than a perfect model. Put it down to craftsmanship taking a massive plunge in post-apocalyptic society. The gate spans are made from insulated 12awg solid-core wire and styrene.
