Towel Stake

The Towel stake comprises a two-piece snap fit design created during an Extreme Redesign challenge. This design addresses issues related to towels getting blown away or folded when laid upon. The first section is a cone-shaped part that can be pushed into the sand on a beach. It features two rectangular holes on opposite sides, allowing sand or dirt to fall in and enhance stability. At the bottom, there's a flat surface with two equally sized and one smaller diameter hole, enabling easy removal of sand when pulling out the stake from the ground. The top part of this cone has four fillets that serve as snap features. The second piece is shaped like a larger rectangle, designed for bending. It also has four fillets on its side, which, when snapped together with the first part, trap the beach towel between them. An additional feature is a finger-hole with a fillet, making it easier to separate the two pieces. By placing multiple of these designs around a towel, this innovative solution effectively prevents both folding and blowing away issues.
