Towel Dispenser Fix
thingiverse
My workplace features restrooms with Kimberly-Clark paper towel dispensers, which are notoriously flawed. Every single one of them suffers from a common issue: when you press the handle all the way to the bottom of its track, the internal mechanism tears a hole in the middle of the paper towel and then refuses to advance it, no matter how many times you push the handle. The only solution is to take the dispenser apart and manually feed the paper back through the rollers. To fix this problem, I install a small modification that "clicks" into place, preventing the handle from moving all the way down its track. This in turn stops the mechanism from ripping the paper towel. As a result, I have to refeed the paper less often than before. PLA works well with these dispensers. For optimal results, I orient the angled surface of the dispenser flat on the bed when printing. Both my CR-10 and Da Vinci Mini W printers can print without supports using this setup.
