This is a replacement part designed specifically for the tow hook cover on the left-hand driver's side of Honda Civic 8th gen hatchbacks, also known as FK or FN models and often referred to as UFOs in certain countries. The tow hook cover has a tendency to go missing quite frequently. If you're looking to purchase a used part, be prepared to pay upwards of $25, while the OEM equivalent in your desired color will cost around $60. Considering it's just a piece of plastic, these prices may seem steep, especially if you're thinking about buying back your own cover from an untrustworthy source or replacing it with a new one only to lose it again soon. The provided replacement part is not 100% identical to the original tow hook cover, which features a curved design that perfectly fits the contours of the bumper and includes a mounting piece for added protection against loss. However, this version is flat in order to achieve a smooth surface finish, necessitating the introduction of additional side mounts to facilitate curving, as well as a hook for securing the cover with a zip-tie to prevent accidental detachment. The final design incorporates updated dimensions and a 1mm cavity to enhance flexibility. The part was printed using PETG material, as evident in the black sample shown in the gallery.
