The secret to transforming low-grip forces into massive lift forces with a prosthetic gripper lies in the utilization of soft-gripping inlays or pads. For this reason, devices like the Toughware Equilux are designed with interchangeable grip pads and offer endless possibilities for customization. As someone who heavily relies on these devices, I continually experiment with various settings to optimize their performance. My latest breakthrough - a set of self-manufactured silicone rubber pads with exceptional grip capabilities - represents a major innovation in this field. To demonstrate the effectiveness of my custom-made pads, I've created 3D-printed Protosil RTV 245 (durometer shore 40A) silicone covers for the Toughware Equilux. This proof-of-concept showcases the remarkable grip-enhancing potential of these innovative pads, blurring the line between human and machine functionality.
