As cities continue to grow and expand, the natural habitats of many species, including birds, are being threatened. Urbanization can cause a loss of nesting sites and food sources for birds, leading to a decline in their populations. However, urban environments also provide new opportunities for bird conservation, and one such opportunity is the creation of artificial nesting sites such as birdhouses. Totote’s aim was to design a 3D printed urban birdhouse that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, providing birds with a safe and comfortable place to nest and roost in urban environments. By utilizing 3D printing technology, the design can be easily replicated and customized to fit the needs of different bird species and environments. This birdhouse is designed to be hung on a fence in urban environments, giving birds the opportunity for places to live around bigger cities with a lower tree density.
