Totoro Sun Catcher

Totoro Sun Catcher

My kid is absolutely captivated by Anime, and I've been busy creating sun catchers lately. So ... here's Totoro. This simple sun catcher is printed without any fancy multi-material mechanisms. The frame functions like the lead in a stained glass window. It needs to be printed with transparent filament, switching to black at the layer where the lead lines would appear. Once finished, the colored pieces are then attached into the corresponding "gaps" in the frame using PVA glue. I let it set over several days to ensure a strong bond. The tolerances are really tight, so you might need to sand the parts down slightly to get them to fit properly, depending on your printer's tolerances.
