TOTEM - Modular storage unit
cults3d
To get my desk in order, I created this modular ToTEM: a phone charger, compartments for cluttered items, space for tools or pens, and even a flower pot can be accommodated. The construction is straightforward: the trunk is simply a curtain rod that's readily available (Ø 35 mm) and needs to be cut to the desired length based on the number of modules you want. I opted for 30 cm in my pictures, but you can make it longer if needed. A few wood screws and some patience will help everything come together. Each module is designed to rotate thanks to the capabilities of 3D printing! There's a gap of 0.35 mm. in the hinge: ensure your printer is accurate enough to prevent any issues. A small screw is necessary to secure each module at the desired height. I use it on my desk, but feel free to find your own creative composition: storing your 3D printer tools, jewelry, or aromatic plants are just a few ideas. Each component can be printed on a 180 mm Ø tray like NEVA, or any printer that accommodates a tray of this size. No support is needed. The average print fill rate is 15 / 20 %. I'm happy to provide STEP or IGES files for those who want to make adjustments. If you like this project, I'd appreciate a "LIKE". Have a great print!
