Totally Spies-styled backpack, sliding opening
thingiverse
I'm unable to find a backpack that matches my Totally Spies cosplays, so I designed this one myself. It's the most complicated CAD project I've ever undertaken. I printed it with my Ender Creality 3 using red PLA and a 0.45 mm shell thickness, along with 15% infill. To harden it, I coated it with resin and then painted it pink. PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS A) Backpack (2 pieces) and rods (3 pieces): STL files give you the right half of the backpack. Simply mirror them to create the left half. B) Hook (3 pieces): Print each piece twice. Since right and left are identical, mirroring is not necessary. If you prefer a thin strap over the hook, feel free to skip it. For custom sizes, just let me know. ASSEMBLING I recommend assembling each half separately before gluing them together at the end. 1) The lid features six notches to securely hold all three rods in place. Be cautious not to mix up left and right rods. Once you've correctly placed the rods, apply glue to secure them. 2) Assembling the hook is straightforward: insert the axis into the base, apply a small drop of cyanoacrylic glue to the arch, and then assemble. The hook can rotate freely. 3a) Hooks slide smoothly into the bottom part and don't require gluing, allowing you to easily remove them if needed. 3b) If you prefer not to use hooks, two holes are pre-drilled in the bottom for attaching a thin strap or ribbon. I'd be happy to design a flat base for your backpack if you need it. 4) Finally, glue the two bottom halves together, and I used resin to achieve a seamless junction.
