Total Eclipse pendant
thingiverse
Want to celebrate the total solar eclipse that will sweep coast-to-coast across America? Lucky people who can get to the line of totality will see a total eclipse of the sun and view the sun's corona around the moon's outline. Whether you make it or not, print and wear this simple total eclipse pendant in honor of our friends the sun and the moon. This model was made in Tinkercad by extruding an SVG image of a previous solar eclipse then flattening out the edges of the corona with paraboloids. Here's a link to the model that you can pick apart or edit as you like. For printing on an FDM/filament machine, use the "halves" file to print in two pieces and glue together. This will avoid nasty supports to remove or build plate adhesion problems. On an SLS/powder printer, just print the full model directly. Don't have a printer?
