Useful for dampening down live music without losing enjoyment, and for people like me with sound sensitivities. A little less dampening than Anybodysguess' design, though both allow you to hear voices well - even better than normal in crowded places, stores, restaurants etc.

Even a rough print works well, though it can use a bit of sanding with a nail file.

I'm going to make a few more versions when I have time.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3 Pro

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2 mm

Infill:

100%

Filament: Unknown PLA White

Notes:

Scape and clean bed, then put down a layer of glue stick. Take it slow for the first 2 layers, then you can speed up. Despite the program's concern, it prints fine without supports and rafts - rafts actually increase the chance of displacement.
Takes about 16 minutes to print.
How I Designed This

Used Blender. Used a torus - outer circumference 1.5 cm, inner circumference 0.8 cm. Used Anybodysguess' design as an earbud connector, slightly shrunk, and used Blender's scraping tool to shape it onto the torus (if anybody knows how to clean it up better, feel free). I then increased the diameter of the tip slightly by sight, and increased the neck length - this may need to sized slightly different for other earbuds, but generally works well. I used a boolean modifier to merge the two models. I then re-mapped the mesh and dissolved the vertices to 0.2. Finally, I used the Solidify modifier to make an inner 0.6 mm (3 0.2 mm layer thick) wall and left the rest hollow.

Category: Audio
