Torso of Dionysius
myminifactory
The torso likely belonged to a figure reclining half-on, half-off a chariot, as defined by traditional Indian victory processions. Dating back to the Antonine era, circa 160-200 BC, it shares origins with a sculptural ensemble featuring Emperor Commodus and Tritons, produced in the same workshop.
