The remnants of an injured warrior maiden lie lifeless on the ground, her body encased in a battered leather belt fashioned from a horse's rein. The museum has carefully preserved the ancient torso, stripping away the restored limbs and head which were detached by the Ashmolean Museum during the 1880s to reveal the original Roman remains.
