Torso of a Statue of Dionysos

Torso of a Statue of Dionysos

myminifactory

Allegedly originating in Asia Minor (Turkey) as early as 1841, this stunning marble statue dates back to 440 - 440 BC. Crafted during the High Classical period of ancient Greece or expertly replicated in the early Roman imperial age, its authenticity is shrouded by surface damage. The beardless head on this magnificent piece suggests it should be paired with a cantharos in the right hand and a thyrsos staff in the left, completing its original grandeur. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking initiative launched by MyMiniFactory. Through this non-profit project, we're creating a vast digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for everyone to access freely. "Scan The World" is an open-source community effort, inviting anyone with interesting items nearby to contribute.
