Torso of a statue of Aphrodite
myminifactory
Located in Athens, the goddess is typically shown unclothed from the waist upwards. The lower portion of her body is usually draped with a himation, its folded edge visible on her left arm. Her arms and legs are carved separately from the rest of the marble figure. A late Hellenistic replica of an original work believed to have been created by Praxiteles around 360 BC, this statue is known as the Arles Aphrodite due to the preservation of its best copy.
