Archaeological site of the Iberian Peninsula "The significance of this archaeological site lies in its strategic position controlling trade routes into the interior, as a borderland and numerous remains of an important trade with the Phoenicians that make it a center for distributing Phoenician goods into the interior. The settlement is scientifically interesting from various perspectives. On one hand, it controlled the trade on the Mijares River, which in the era was an important route between the coast and the interior (L'Alt Millars); additionally, during the Iberian era, it marked the border between various Iberian tribes. On the other hand, this archaeological settlement and the surrounding area cover a relatively long period of time, from the final Upper Paleolithic to the conquest of Jaime I.
