The Tower of the Lightning Bolt, located within the municipal boundaries of Tarifa in Cádiz, serves as another example of an almenara or vijía tower that formed part of the vigilance and alert system protecting the city of Tarifa and its Atlantic territory. This tower is currently in a state of alarming conservation, particularly on its northeast and south faces. As for its interior, two pechinas are preserved on the southeast wall, along with the start of the vaulted ceiling; on the northwest side, an access staircase to the second floor rises up.
