The so-called Aragon Tower stands as a medieval stronghold that anchors a vast defensive network within the heart of Molina de Aragón (Guadalajara, Spain). Perched atop the highest terrain, it towers over the Gallo River valley below, commanding an unobstructed view. Its prime location made it a prized asset even in the 19th century, prompting a comprehensive rebuild for military purposes. The Aragon Tower is intricately woven into the medieval defense system of Molina de Aragón, one of Spain's most impressive and extensive preserved medieval fortifications to this day. Molina de Aragón itself held significant strategic importance during the Middle Ages as it sat at the crossroads between the Kingdoms of Castilla and Aragón. The current Aragon Tower rises from the remnants of a previous Islamic fortress. Its unique pentagonal shape is designed to amplify its resistance against artillery fire, particularly from catapults.\nA 3D model was meticulously crafted using Reality Capture techniques, combining 150 FARO Focus3D laser scans with an astonishing 991 drone images.
