The Tower of Verdiales is a key component of the city's defensive interior system, alert network, and control of roads and field guards in Málaga. Located 540 meters above sea level, it offers breathtaking views of the Guadalmedina valley, including the Zambra tower, as well as parts of the Guadalhorce and Campanillas rivers; not to mention a significant portion of Málaga city itself. From this vantage point, one can observe a small section of land dominated by the Zambra Tower, albeit with greater detail due to its proximity. The Prado or Vega tower is also visible in the Guadalhorce valley. The Tower of Verdiales was constructed using the same building techniques as the Zambra Tower and other nearby structures, featuring abundant local slate stone. Horizontal layers of flagstone alternate with thicker layers, all held together by a mixture of earth mortar. A weak lime mortar coating is visible on the tower's surface.
