Torqued Square Extrusion Lamp Shade

Torqued Square Extrusion Lamp Shade

I was inspired by various vase mode spiral prints on this website, so I decided to design my own unique version! The form originated from a square that was extruded vertically with a 180 degree twist. The AMZ3D Wood Filament I used turned out amazing! Print Settings: Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: Vase Mode Notes: Relevant Settings: Vase Mode Enabled (also known as single outline corkscrew printing mode in Simplify3D) Nozzle Height: 0.2mm Nozzle Extrusion Width: 0.52mm (a bit fatter to allow more adhesion surface area) These two settings will determine whether your print stays open or closed. Since I printed this as a lampshade, I left both at 0 so I got an open formed print. Bottom Solid Layers: 0 Top Solid Layers: 0 Brim: 3 skirt outlines (just a precautionary measure, since this print is hollow, there's very little surface area between the first layer and the build surface. This may lead to your print pulling off the plate before it's finished printing.) How I Designed This I modeled it in Rhino with Grasshopper.
