Torpedo Water Toy

Torpedo Water Toy

prusaprinters

Simple torpedo / rocket shaped toy, designed to be printed with 0% infill so it floats and used as a water toy in the pool or bathtub. If not sealed it will start to soak up water and may become moldy, though I haven't had that issue myself. You will most likely need to print with brim or raft and supports on the build plate to help with adhesion. Support is not technically required but it helps stabilize it.The base model is small, only 85 mm tall, though I've included g-code for a version scaled up to the max size a Prusa MINI can print (180 mm). I've included 3-fin and 4-fin versions although the FreeCAD file is only for the 4-fin version, and changing the numbers of fins will require fixing features that break. The 3-fin version looks cooler imo, but the 4-fin version can be launched quite effectively underwater by holding it with your thumb and middle finger and giving it a flick. Please do be careful if using this as a water toy and not printing out of a soft material like TPU, most water toys are soft for a reason! Use responsibly, supervise kids, don't throw it out of the water, etc. Some suggestions to help make it closer to water-tight:More shells (perimeters and top/bottom layers)Increase the print temperatureIncrease the flow rate (e.g., to 1.5x)Randomize the seam locationsSeal it up with a coating
