Toroidal inductor

Inductor DC is a type of electrical component that stores energy in a magnetic field when current flows through it. It consists of a coil of wire wrapped around a core made of a ferromagnetic material such as iron or ferrite, which enhances the magnetic field. When an alternating current (AC) flows through the coil, the magnetic field alternates, allowing the inductor to store and release energy efficiently. In DC circuits, however, the inductor behaves differently due to its inherent properties. It opposes changes in current by inducing a voltage that opposes the change, known as back electromotive force (EMF). This property allows DC inductors to filter out unwanted AC components from DC signals, making them an essential component in power supplies and electronic circuits.
