The fierce bull, also known as the fighting bull, refers to male specimens of a heterogeneous bovine population developed, selected, and raised for use in various bullfighting events, such as bullfights or bullruns. They originate from indigenous breeds of the Iberian Peninsula, known as the "Iberian stock", which since time immemorial have promoted the most primitive forms of bullfighting. It is characterized by atavistic instincts of defense and temperament, which are synthesized in what is called "bravura", as well as physical attributes such as large horns forward and a powerful locomotor apparatus.
