Panavia Tornado MRCA: A Joint Project of Global Proportions Developed and built by Italy, the United Kingdom, and West Germany, this multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA) is a testament to international cooperation. Capable of flying at extremely low levels while following the terrain, the Panavia PA-200 Tornado can perform reconnaissance, defense suppression, deep strike, naval strike, and air defense missions with ease. The name "Tornado" was chosen for its universal meaning and spelling in English, German, and Italian languages. This versatile aircraft has multiple variants, including the standard fighter-bomber IDS (interdiction and strike) and the ADV interceptor (air defense variant). The ECR (electronic combat/reconnaissance) model is similar to the IDS but equipped with different gear. The Royal Saudi Air Force operates a limited number of IDS and ADV models, while the United Kingdom has largely retired its Tornado fleet. This iconic aircraft played a significant role in several conflicts, including the Gulf War, Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, and the Libyan Civil War. As I grew up watching the Panavia Tornado soar above my childhood home near an airbase in northern Italy, this aircraft holds a special place in my memories. Its presence was a reminder of the country's military might and international cooperation. Models uploaded are the ADV and IDS variants, both featuring wings at minimum and maximum angles. These 1:100 scale prints were produced using a 1:285 nozzle and 0.12 mm layers, resulting in precise details. The models are printed in two halves, as shown in the image, and then carefully glued together. Model Details: * Scale: 1:100 * Printing Method: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) * Nozzle Size: 0.4mm * Layer Thickness: 0.12 mm Date of Update: September 16, 2019 Mesh errors were discovered and corrected on this date to ensure optimal print quality.
