I splurged on a Tormach TTS ER20 collet set, only to discover I lacked a suitable wrench to tighten the 30mm collet nuts. Instead of rushing out to buy one, I headed straight to my 3D printer and created a custom solution. My trusty Printrbot Simple has served me well over the years, and it's also equipped me with valuable experience that proved handy when building this custom wrench. Its compact size means the wrench remains stubby, ideal for working in tight spaces. The small holes in the handle were merely added to minimize the PLA material used, without compromising on performance. What really impresses me is how well this little tool grips down past the hex area, ensuring proper alignment and minimizing the risk of the wrench coming loose while I'm tightening those ER20 collets. So far, it's proven more than strong enough for its intended purpose, demonstrating just how versatile a good 3D printer can be.
