Tormach Shuttle Safety Cover - No Step
thingiverse
Here's a way to keep from bumping that step button on your Tormach shuttle without reprogramming Path Pilot. Ring file goes around your shuttle and has a notch on bottom for your shuttle's cord. There are 3 cover files included. Normal is just that, covers that step button entirely. Tall has a bit more profile and makes it harder to flex cover into step button with a heavy hand. Cut cover has a notch to allow you to reach that step button when needed. Printing instructions. I used Prusaslicer and my MK3s These files are in INCHES and MUST be scaled by 2540% on most slicers. Print ring face down (rotate X axis 180) so it's smooth on the hand. Print normal and tall covers X axis rotated 90 so that you don't have to deal with overehang or supports. This printed for me without a brim using PETG. This orientation also adds strength to prevent flexing of cover. The "cut cover" file must be rotated to print on non-cut end and may need manual positioning. If you want to be able to flex these cover so that you can push the step button, simply sand off the bottom some until desired effect. These print fine on draft mode. You can scale ring up or down a bit for a tighter or looser fit. It's designed to be VERY tight. See my other machining and tormach stuff here on thingiverse Please, Leave a comment or feedback.
