Tormach RapidTurn Stock Sleeves Liners
thingiverse
These are two different stock sleeve liners I designed for the Tormach RapidTurn. Noticing that long thin stock fed through either the 5C collet or chuck can warp in the middle when spinning, I came up with a solution to support longer stock. Stock between 18" and 24" is typically run when starting a long part job and fed through the spindle. The thinner and longer the stock, the higher the chance it will warp when spinning. To help prevent this warping, I created two spindle liners that provide additional support for the stock. The liners are designed to fit snugly in the 27mm OD and a slightly looser fitting 26.5 sleeve size. These designs can be easily customized using Fusion 360 files provided. This way, users can create their own liners to support any stock size they need. Each liner is divided into two pieces that are threaded together for easy assembly. They can be printed in any 3D printer capable of printing up to 140mm in Z-axis height. I successfully printed the liners in PETG with a layer height of 0.3mm and a fast print mode, and the threads still worked smoothly.
