Torches and bat/stake accessories for Medisinyl Mods BSD pinball casket
thingiverse
These were optional accessories that were for my discontinued headstone and casket set. The main parts won't be offered here, but some have expressed interest in the DIY option for accessories. Torches are intended to be used with Comet fire bulbs. The stakes were made with wooden dowels (I don't recall the size, but they'll match the opening of the bat's grip). They got coated with dark stain, then belt sanded to a point on each side (leaving some facets for the whittled look), ultimately winding up at around 129mm from point to point (I imagine they could genuinely be whittled if desired as well). To prepare the bats (printed in black for me, but could be done in silver and just glaze) for paint (the most updated version), I would coat them with 3 coats of triple thick glaze, then paint them silver. When dry to the touch, but before curing 100% (if you want a crackled, worn metal effect [otherwise wait until cured]), you can insert the stained handles into the bats and do a final clear of triple thick glaze, spinning and moving the stakes back an forth a little to coat, and hopefully enough to end up with a snug fit without glue (if not, a small dot of hot glue can be applied from behind where it can't be seen in the game). To apply the bats once cured, sand the back, then apply with super glue gel and position them so that the stakes slightly stick beyond the front corners (with stakes centered on the bats). This will result in the bats being forward on the casket, which looks fine in the game either way, but this was also designed to accommodate my castle mod sets, so if you don't have those, it would be possible to make longer stakes and make them more centered. Torch fire may need to be trimmed at the flat base to properly be able to be pushed in and out of the headstone mod (I used a raft for the torch fire pieces). Handles (printed on the flat side with no raft) would get hot glued together with black hot glue (though some liked just using the fire portion and leaving the handle off), and can be painted if desired, or printed in brown or black. Triple thick glaze helps reduce a 3D print appearance for the torch parts as well. You'll want a slightly milky transparent red filament for the best diffusion (3D Solutech is what I've found to work on color, but they've gone down hill in the last year in my experience for quality).
