Topwater "Spook" Fishing Lure

Topwater "Spook" Fishing Lure Currently under development is a version with a bill, transforming it into a diving "jerkbait". The baits shown in pictures were painted using an airbrush, and I'm actively working on improving my airbrushing skills. Holds up to four standard metal BBs for added weight. (4.5mm) Accommodates two size 10 treble hooks, which can be replaced with larger sizes if desired. Note that I used three BBs when creating mine, and it may require some trial and error to achieve the desired buoyancy. However, I believe the bait has potential as a sinking lure, pending further testing. The bait exhibits a nice topwater side-to-side action, reminiscent of "walking the dog". Epoxy is used to secure the screw eyes into their designated holes, employing 1/2" (.062") stainless steel screw eyes. Split rings are slid onto the hooks and line tie for added action. A soldering iron and clamps were utilized to fuse the two halves together, creating a seamless appearance. I recommend applying epoxy to the interior before this step to enhance durability and strength. Be cautious not to overheat the plastic or inhale the fumes, as it's likely detrimental to your health. Amazon offers affordable Chinese stick-on eyes suitable for the bait. The baits were airbrushed with Createx Colors water-based paints and topped with an epoxy coating to seal and protect the paint. Stay tuned for future updates on the design and more fishing-related content.
