Topology Optimized Banana/Headphone Hanger
thingiverse
Here is the rewritten text: I need to redesign the top interface because it's currently too weak! I designed a Topology Optimized Banana/Headphone/Whatever Hanger using ANSYS 2019-R2. To create this design, I remeshed the body but didn't smooth or resurface it, which gives it a computer-generated organic look that makes for a cool print - almost vase-like if you set your Z-seam correctly. The hanger has removable pieces so you can customize and create your own designs. You can find the dimensions in the images, but don't forget to consider tolerances (the dimensions shown are hole size). I used 0.1 mm tolerance for my printer. The total size of this design is 160 mm x 170 mm x 199 mm. If you're hanging larger objects, you might want to scale it larger in the Z direction. Print Settings: * CR-10 * AMZ3D Black PLA * 212º temperature * 0.4 mm nozzle * 0.2 mm layer height * 0 infill (Note: I actually printed this with 0 infill and was surprised it worked - the only issue is the bottom 5% where you have some bridging, so pay attention for the first little bit of the print) * 3 outer walls Hanger Settings: * You can use a triangle that's approximately 7 mm base by 10 mm tall by 10 mm deep (pictured) Notes: * This can be a challenging print, so make sure everything is dialed before trying! * You might want to add custom supports for the bottom 5% - it's a long overhang. Versions: V1: I printed this design as well as the two hangers, but the slouching/tolerances are a bit off between the two bodies. You can either scale the hanger parts smaller or wait for my edit.
